Your wedding day is one of the most photographed days of your life. Naturally, most brides don’t want to look different — they simply want to look well-rested, confident and glowing.
GLOW.
In clinic, brides often tell me they’re nervous about doing “too much” or trying something new too close to the big day. My approach at Moreton Aesthetics is always about planning, subtlety and skin confidence, ensuring you still look like you, just at your very best. My clinic offers a calm, discreet space to prepare your skin in a considered and safe way.
When should brides start aesthetic treatments?
Ideally, bridal skin preparation should begin 6–12 months before the wedding. This allows time to improve skin quality gradually, build collagen and adjust treatments if needed.
Starting early also means avoiding last-minute treatments that may cause unnecessary stress or downtime.
The most popular treatments for brides-to-be
SkinPen microneedling for glow and texture
SkinPen microneedling is one of my most recommended treatments for brides. It improves skin texture, refines pores, softens fine lines and enhances overall radiance.
Because it stimulates your own collagen naturally, results look effortless and photograph beautifully. Many brides choose a course of treatments leading up to the wedding, with the final session completed well in advance.
MOXI: Refining Tone, Texture and Pigmentation Before the Big Day
MOXI is a gentle fractional laser treatment that I often recommend to brides-to-be who want clearer, brighter, more even skin without downtime. It works by improving skin tone and texture while targeting early sun damage, pigmentation and dullness — concerns that often become more noticeable during the stress and excitement of wedding planning.
Unlike more aggressive lasers, MOXI is designed for pre-juvenation, making it ideal in the months leading up to a wedding. It helps refresh the skin, refine pores and enhance radiance, creating the perfect canvas for makeup while still looking completely natural.
MOXI can be performed safely across all skin types and is particularly effective when combined with SkinPen or medical-grade skincare to optimise skin health in the lead-up to your wedding day.
Profhilo for hydrated, luminous skin
If your skin looks tired, dull or dehydrated, Profhilo is a wonderful option. It deeply hydrates the skin and improves elasticity without adding volume or altering facial features.
Brides love Profhilo because it creates that healthy, lit-from-within glow that makeup sits beautifully on.
A skinbooster for the eye area
The eye area is often the focus in wedding photography. Sunekos and Polynucleotides help improve fine lines, dark circles and crepey skin by strengthening the delicate under-eye area.
This is an excellent treatment for brides who want to look refreshed without filler.
Chemical peels
Targeted chemical peels can help brighten the skin, even tone and improve clarity. Gentler peels are often incorporated closer to the wedding once the skin is stable, ensuring maximum glow with minimal downtime.
Treatments I recommend avoiding close to the wedding
Part of my role is advising what not to do. I generally avoid introducing new or aggressive treatments too close to the wedding day, including:
First-time injectables
Strong resurfacing treatments
Anything with unpredictable swelling or downtime
Planning and timing are everything.
The role of skincare in bridal preparation
No treatment works in isolation. I always stress the importance of consistent, medical-grade skincare in the lead-up to the wedding.
This often includes:
Antioxidant serums such as SkinCeuticals
Vitamin A to refine texture
Daily SPF to protect results
The right skincare routine ensures your skin stays calm, clear and radiant throughout the preparation process.
A personalised bridal plan
Every bride is different. Some want minimal intervention, others want a more structured plan. During a consultation, I create a personalised timeline based on:
Your skin concerns
Your wedding date
Your comfort level with treatments
This ensures you feel confident and supported every step of the way.
My philosophy for brides
My aim is always to enhance, not change. On your wedding day, you should feel like the most confident version of yourself — not distracted by concerns about your skin.
Subtle, well-planned treatments should make you feel calm, glowing and camera-ready, without anyone knowing you’ve had anything done.
Is now the right time to start?
If you’re newly engaged, now is the perfect time to start thinking about your skin. Early planning gives the best, most natural results.
