HAIR LOSS & THINNING

Hair loss and Thinning Treatments at Moreton Aesthetics

Hair thinning and shedding can be distressing, but with the right combination of expert guidance and advanced treatment, it’s possible to restore stronger, healthier hair. At Moreton Aesthetics, we offer personalised solutions for both men and women experiencing hair loss, led by Dr Nabila.

What happens to our hair as we age?

As we age, hair follicles naturally shrink, reducing their ability to grow thick, pigmented strands. Hormonal changes, reduced collagen, oxidative stress and slower cell turnover all contribute to finer, sparser hair. Over time, this results in visible thinning, a receding hairline or reduced volume.

Who does hair loss affect?

Hair loss affects both men and women and can begin as early as the twenties. Causes include genetics, hormonal imbalances, stress, nutritional deficiencies, illness and certain medications. Whether you're noticing a widening part or general thinning, seeking help early can slow progression and support regrowth.

What can I do at home?

Supporting your hair from home can significantly improve results between in-clinic treatments. Here are our top recommendations:

  • Scalp massage: Regular massage boosts blood flow to the scalp, stimulating follicles and encouraging growth. Use gentle pressure with fingertips or a scalp massager.

  • LED mask: red light therapy can stimulate hair follicles, reduce inflammation and improve cellular activity. Used consistently, an LED mask can enhance hair density and quality.

  • AnteAGE Home Hair System: this protocol uses stem cell growth factors and microneedling to support the scalp and promote healthier, thicker hair from the root.

  • Vida Glow Hairology: a marine-based supplement that strengthens hair from the inside out, improving thickness, reducing shedding and supporting scalp health.

  • Nuchido TIME NAD+: designed to boost NAD+ levels, these supplements support cellular repair and rejuvenation, benefiting both skin and hair health.

  • Healthy hair habits: avoid harsh chemicals, excessive heat styling and tight hairstyles. Ensure a balanced diet rich in protein, iron and vitamins B, D and zinc.

What treatment can I have for my hair?

At Moreton Aesthetics, we offer several advanced, non-surgical treatments to address hair thinning and stimulate regrowth:

  • PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) therapy: a regenerative treatment that uses your own blood, spun to isolate growth factors which are then injected and microneedling into the scalp to revive dormant follicles and improve hair thickness.

  • Polynucleotides: derived from salmon or trout DNA, these natural biostimulators repair damaged tissue, reduce inflammation and create an optimal environment for hair growth.

  • Exosomes: rich in growth factors and cell-signalling molecules, exosomes promote follicle regeneration, boost collagen, and encourage hair growth with minimal downtime.

  • Microneedling: microneedling creates microchannels in the scalp, boosting circulation and improving product absorption when combined with serums or exosomes.

What happens during a clinic treatment?

Each treatment begins with a consultation and scalp analysis with Dr Nabila. After cleansing the scalp, your chosen treatment (PRP, exosomes, polynucleotides or microneedling) is applied or injected using sterile techniques. Treatments typically take 30–60 minutes and are performed in our peaceful clinic within Stanley House Hotel & Spa.

How many sessions will I need?

For best results, we usually recommend a course of 3 to 6 treatments, spaced 3-4weeks apart. Maintenance sessions may be required every 6–12 months depending on your response.

How soon will I see results?

You may begin to notice improvements in texture and reduced shedding after 6–8 weeks. More visible changes, such as thicker or denser hair, typically appear between 3 to 6 months.

What is the downtime?

Downtime is minimal. You may experience slight redness, swelling or tenderness at the scalp for 24–48 hours. Most patients return to normal activities within a day.

Are there any side effects?

Side effects are generally mild and temporary. These can include redness, tenderness, itching or mild swelling. All risks are fully discussed during your consultation and aftercare guidance will be provided.

How long do results last?

Results vary by individual but typically last 6 to 12 months. Regular maintenance and supportive at-home care help extend results and prevent further thinning.
