What are microneedling results like?

Results from microneedling are both immediate and progressive. Skin will appear fresher and more radiant within days of treatment. Over the following weeks, as collagen continues to rebuild, improvements in skin tone, firmness, and texture become more apparent. Acne scars and wrinkles gradually soften, and the skin becomes smoother and healthier.

What happens during a SkinPen® microneedling session?

Each SkinPen® session at our luxurious clinic at Stanley House Hotel & Spa begins with a thorough consultation and cleanse. A numbing cream is applied for comfort. The SkinPen® device is then passed across the skin, creating microchannels to stimulate healing.

Following the microneedling, we apply a soothing SkinPen® Biocellulose Masque to the face. This cooling, hydrating mask reduces redness and enhances comfort, leaving your skin calm and revitalised.

What are exosomes and how can they be added to the microneedling session?

Exosomes are powerful regenerative molecules derived from stem cells. They contain growth factors, peptides, and antioxidants that enhance cellular communication and repair. When applied during microneedling, exosomes penetrate deep into the skin via the microchannels, amplifying results and accelerating recovery.

Exosomes are ideal for clients seeking enhanced anti-ageing results, skin brightening, and faster healing.

How many sessions will I need?

While you may notice a visible improvement after one session, we usually recommend a course of three sessions spaced four weeks apart for optimal results. For concerns such as acne scarring or deeper wrinkles, more sessions may be advised.

How soon will I see results?

Initial results can be seen within a few days, with skin appearing more radiant and plump. Collagen remodelling continues over the next 4–6 weeks, delivering longer-term improvements in skin tone, texture, and elasticity.

What is the downtime?

Skin may appear pink to red for 24–48 hours post-treatment, similar to mild sunburn. Some clients experience slight peeling or dryness. Most people return to normal activities within a day. Makeup can usually be worn after 48 hours.

Are there any side effects?

Side effects are minimal and temporary. These may include:

All side effects typically resolve within a few days.

Do I need maintenance sessions and after how long?

Yes, maintenance sessions are recommended every 4–6 months to preserve and extend your results. These treatments help stimulate continued collagen production and maintain skin health.
