PROFHILO® VS SUNEKOS®: WHICH ONE IS RIGHT FOR YOU?

Patients often ask me whether they should choose Profhilo® or Sunekos® to improve skin quality. While both are injectable treatments designed to hydrate and rejuvenate the skin, they work in very different ways and are suited to different skin concerns.
HYDRATE & GLOW.
At Moreton Aesthetics, my approach is always to match the treatment to the patient’s skin type, ageing pattern and goals.
What Is Profhilo®?
Profhilo® is an innovative injectable treatment made of stabilised hyaluronic acid. Unlike traditional dermal fillers, it is not used to add volume in specific areas but rather to improve overall skin quality.
It works by stimulating collagen and elastin production, hydrating the skin from within and improving firmness, elasticity and luminosity. Profhilo® is particularly effective for patients noticing early skin laxity or dull, tired-looking skin.
Treatment is usually delivered in just a few strategic injection points, making it minimally invasive with low downtime.
What Is Sunekos®?
Sunekos® is a skin booster treatment that combines hyaluronic acid with amino acids to improve hydration, elasticity and overall skin quality. Unlike Profhilo®, Sunekos® works more superficially and is delivered in a grid-like pattern across areas such as the face, neck or hands.
Sunekos® is particularly effective for:
Dry or dehydrated skin
Fine lines and superficial textural concerns
Improving overall skin smoothness
Its targeted approach allows for precise treatment of specific areas that need hydration and revitalisation.
Key Differences Between Profhilo® and Sunekos®
Feature | Profhilo® | Sunekos® |
Goal | Overall skin quality, firmness, collagen stimulation | Hydration, superficial texture, fine lines |
Depth | Deep dermis, spreads to improve elasticity | More superficial, can be area-specific |
Number of injections | Few (5 per side of the face in standard protocol) | Multiple small injections across the treatment area |
Best for | Early laxity, dull or sagging skin | Dryness, fine lines, superficial texture |
Combining Treatments
In some cases, Profhilo® and Sunekos® can be used together for complementary effects. For example, Profhilo® can be used to improve overall elasticity and firmness, while Sunekos® adds targeted hydration to the cheeks, under eyes or lips.
This combination is particularly effective for patients looking for a more youthful, glowing appearance without altering facial contours.
Choosing the Right Treatment
The choice between Profhilo® and Sunekos® comes down to your skin type, goals, and the areas you wish to target. During a consultation, I assess your skin, discuss your concerns, and design a personalised plan that may include one or both treatments.
Both options are excellent for improving skin quality, but selecting the right one ensures optimal results and patient satisfaction.
